Benefits of Participating in Robotics

Involvement in a FIRST Robotics Team gives students the opportunity to learn and lead hands on in all of the following areas:

    • Fundraising by networking with local businesses

    • Using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and other industry standard graphic design programs
    • Writing blog posts
    • Making “graciously professional” social media posts for team
    • Designing slide shows
  • Mechanical and Electrical engineering
    • Networking with industry professionals, such as Grenzebach
    • Wiring
    • Soldering
    • Using ban saw, drill press, metal brake and many other industrial grade peices of machinery

  • Using math calculations to figure out how to program the robot

The results of our current members involvement is truly exciting.
  • In 2015, we went to the World Championship Competition in St. Louis; in 2016, we were the winningest team in Georgia. We received numerous awards at the regional and state levels last year.  Being a part of  Tech Club and Rex Machina is an awesome way to pad your college resume.:)
  • One senior has been offered a job at Delta Global Services when she graduates college.
  • Three of our seniors achieved early acceptance to Georgia Tech this year.

  • All of our participants have been accepted to one or more of the colleges to which they applied.
